ishtar goes NNN (niri + noctalia) - phase 0, just enough to boot into a rice-able desktop
- activeModules: kde -> niri; the kde profile stays in-tree for future hosts, ishtar just stops pulling it
- new profiles/niri.nix: programs.niri.enable (niri-flake wires the portals + polkit itself), hardware.graphics, the fonts carried over from kde, and the noctalia-shell + xwayland-satellite binaries
- config is deliberately RAW for now - ~/.config/niri + ~/.config/noctalia both hot-reload and ride the persistent @home subvol, so iterate live and codify into HM later
greeter: sddm -> greetd + tuigreet
- lament autologins into niri-session via greetd's initial_session; tuigreet shows on logout
- retires the services.displayManager.autoLogin block in lament.nix - greetd doesn't read it
inputs: niri (sodiboo/niri-flake) + noctalia (noctalia-dev/noctalia)
- niri deliberately does NOT follow nixpkgs - that would invalidate niri.cachix.org (built against niri-flake's own pin) and force a from-source Rust + Mesa build
- noctalia follows nixpkgs per its docs - only heavy dep is quickshell, cached upstream regardless
- niri.cachix.org + noctalia.cachix.org substituters added to nixconf, fleet-wide via core
left for later:
- codify the raw niri/noctalia configs into home-manager once dialed in - the system/user split (pulling lament's HM standalone) is the open question that lands there
- theming: stylix stays for now; plan is noctalia owns colors and stylix gets dropped on ishtar once its template coverage holds up
- xdg-desktop-portal-gtk if file pickers/screencast misbehave, nvidia + niri still untested on the box, and drop initial_session if you'd rather always land on the tuigreet prompt
